Overview
Good news for candidates who are interested in applying for the post of constables in central forces. The Staff Selection Commission has published an official notification for recruitment of constables. The vacancies are distributed across all states. The official advertisement was published on the SSC website and also in the rozgar samachar/employment news.
Interested candidates who fit the eligibility criteria can fill an online application on the official SSC website: http://ssc.nic.in. A national level written examination will be conducted for selections of constables GD in ITBPF, BSF, CISF, CRPF and SSB and Rifleman in Assam Rifles.
Candidates will first have to clear Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Those who clear the PST, PET test will be then called for a written examination. Female candidates will also be considered for the posts earmarked for them in different CAPF. The process of recruitment of constables (GD) in CAPF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles will start from 24 January, 2016.
All high school pass candidates can apply for SSC Sipahi Bharti 2016.

Pay scale of SSC constable (GD): Rs 5,200-20,200 and grade pay Rs 2,000.
Eligibility
Age limit: 18 to 23 years as on 1 August, 2016. A relaxation in age limit is provided for SC/ST, OBC and other reserved categories.
Minimum educational qualification required: matriculation/high school/10th class pass.
Selection process of candidates for SSC-GD
Selection of candidates for the post of constable will be conducted in following phases:
Physical Standards Test (PST): The test includes measuring the height, chest and weight of the candidates. The minimum height for male candidates is 170 cm and for female candidates if 157 cm. Chest required for male candidates is 80/85.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): All candidates who qualify in the PST will be called for a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET comprises of a race. Male candidates will be required to run in a 5 km race in 24 minutes while the race for women candidates will be of 1.6 km to be completed in 8 ½ minutes. Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET and will only be called for a medical examination.

The process of submission of the application form consists of two parts. Part 1 is related to registration process and Part 2 is related to application fee submission. Syllabus of written examination for SSC GD constable recruitment
General aptitude and reasoning test: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning, analogies, similarities, differences, spatial visualization, and orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, blood relationship, mathematical reasoning, numerical number and non verbal series, coding-decoding, etc.
General knowledge and general awareness: Latest current affairs on sports, history, society and culture, economy, politics including the Indian Constitution, science and technology.
Elementary mathematics: Number system, whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentage, ratio and proportion, profit and loss, discount, mensuration, time and distance, ration and time etc.
English/Hindi: Basic English/Hindi comprehension.

Medical examination: In the final stages of selection, candidates will have to undergo a medical examination after they clear PET, PST and written examination. Eye sight required for a candidate is 6/6 for better eyes and 6/9 for those with poorer eyesight. The candidate should not have knock knee, flat foot, vircose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high color vision in medical test (X-Ray and lab test).
Results
Results will be declared in September, 2016.
Prescribed fee
Rs 50 for each application form for general category candidates. Fee is exempted for all women candidates and also for SC/ST and ex-servicemen. Candidates are required to submit the fees via CRPF stamp. Application fee is also acceptable vie SBI e-challan/debit/credit card or net banking.
Date schedule
Online registration for application form submission will start from 24th January, 2016.
Last date of online and offline application form submission is up to 5 pm on 23rd February, 2016.
PST/PET will be held between February and March 2016.
Written exam will take place in the 2nd week of May, 2016.
Medical examination: June-August, 2016.
Cut-Off
Minimum cutoff marks required: 35 per cent required for general and ex-servicemen category and 33 per cent for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
