Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts CWE Clerk exam every year to fill the vacancies at clerical level.This exam is a pre-requisite for the selection of clerical cadre posts in public sector banks. Various banks participating in the IBPC CWE(Clerical) are: Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, IDBI Bank, Punjab National Bank, Syndicate Bank etc. Candidates who appear and are shortlisted in the examination, will subsequently be called for the Common Interview conducted by the Participating organizations.


Candidates, intensing to apply for the Clerical post should ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the IBPS.


A candidate must be either- 

(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan 1962 with the intension of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda with the intension of permanently settling in India.


Minimum : 20 Years
Maximum: 28 Years

Educational Qualifications:

A degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate that he/she is a graduate on the day he/she register and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

How To Apply

Candidates can apply online only and no other mode of application will be accepted.

(i)  Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS's website www.ibps.in and click on the Home page to open the link "CWE PO/MT" and then click on the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE-CLERKS (CWE-Clerks)" to open the On-Line Application form.

(ii) Candidates will have to click on "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION" to register their application by entering their basic  information in the online application form. After that a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the provisional registration number and password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed.

(iii) Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature.

(iv) Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application themselves as no change in any of the data filled in the online application will be possible.

(v) Candidates have the option of making payment of requisite fees either through ONLINE mode or the OFFLINE mode.

(vi) Payment of fees via OFFLINE mode can be made through the CBS branches of any one of the 7 Public Sector Banks - Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India.

(vii)  Payment of fees via ONLINE mode can be made by using only Master/Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
