Measures of some angles are given below. Find the measures of their complementary angles.
58$$^o$$

ANSWER

32

SOLUTION
$$\Rightarrow$$ Two Angles are Complementary when they add up to $$90^o.$$

$$\Rightarrow$$  Measure of one complementary angle is $$58^o.$$

$$\Rightarrow$$  Measure of another complementary angle $$=90^o-58^o.$$

                                                                              $$=32^o.$$

$$\therefore$$ Measure of a complementary angle of $$ 58^{o}=32^o$$

Read the following two statements which are taken as axioms:
(i) If two lines intersect each other, then the vertically opposite angles are not equal.
(ii) If a ray stands on a line, then the sum of two adjacent angles so formed is equal to $$180^0$$.
Is this system of axioms consistent? Justify your answer.
