In figure, $$AB || CD$$.
Find the values of $$x, y, z$$ and $$t$$.

SOLUTION
$$ x+125^o = 180^o ( linear \ pair) $$
$$ x= 180^o-125^o $$
$$ x=55^o $$
$$ x=z=55^o $$ (angles on opposite sides of parallelogram )
$$ z+t = 180^o $$ ( angles on same sides of parallelogram)
$$ 55 ^o + t= 180^o $$
$$ t = 180^o - 55^o = 125^o $$
$$ t=y=125^o $$ ( angles on opposite sides of parallelogram )

Q5 Subjective Medium
Read the following two statements which are taken as axioms:
(i) If two lines intersect each other, then the vertically opposite angles are not equal.
(ii) If a ray stands on a line, then the sum of two adjacent angles so formed is equal to $$180^0$$.
Is this system of axioms consistent? Justify your answer.
