If sum of two angles is $$\displaystyle { 90 }^{ o }$$. They will be:

ANSWER

Complementary angles

SOLUTION
If the sum of two angles is $$\displaystyle { 90 }^{ o }$$, then the angles are called Complementary angles.
If the sum of two angles is $$\displaystyle { 180 }^{ o }$$, then the angles are called Supplementary angles.
When two lines are crossed by another line, then the angles in matching corners are called Corresponding angles.
A linear pair of angles is formed when two lines intersect. Two angles are said to be linear if they are adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines. The measure of a straight angle is $$180˚$$, so a linear pair of angles must add up to $$180˚$$.

Q5 Subjective Medium
Read the following two statements which are taken as axioms:
(i) If two lines intersect each other, then the vertically opposite angles are not equal.
(ii) If a ray stands on a line, then the sum of two adjacent angles so formed is equal to $$180^0$$.
Is this system of axioms consistent? Justify your answer.
