SOLUTION
Let the measure of the angle be $x^o$
Let the measure of its complement be $(x-24^{o})$.
Then,
= $x^{o} + (x-24)^{o}$ = $90^{o}$
= $x$ = ( $90^{o}$-(x-24))
= $x$ =  $90^{o}$-x+24
= $x + x$ =  $114^{o}$
= $2x$ = $114^{o}$
= $x$ = $114^{o}/2$
= $x$ = $57^{o}$
