SOLUTION
Let the measure of the angle be $$x^o$$
Let the measure of its complement be $$(x-24^{o})$$.
Then, 
= $$x^{o} + (x-24)^{o}$$ = $$90^{o}$$
= $$x$$ = ( $$90^{o}$$-(x-24))
= $$x$$ =  $$90^{o}$$-x+24
= $$x + x$$ =  $$114^{o}$$
= $$2x$$ = $$114^{o}$$
= $$x$$ = $$114^{o}/2$$
= $$x$$ = $$57^{o}$$
