Overview

Institue of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an organization that is involved in the process of personnel selection and recruitments. IBPS provides its service to all Public Sector Banks, Regional Rural Banks, SBI, RBI, NABARD and SIDBI which are its regular member organizations. IBPS with the help of its channel partners, can organize online examinations for a large number of candidates in more than 200 cities across India simultaneously. IBPS is an autonomous agency in India, which started its operation in 1975 as Personnel Selection Services (PSS) in 1984.

The main vision of IBPS is  to evolve and implement world class processes and systems of assessment/selection of personnel for various client organizations,conduct relevant supportive research and publicise the findings. Shri T M Bhasin is the current Chairman & Managing Director of IBPS.

IBPS - CWE PO/MT

IBPS CWE is one among the most competitive examinations in India with a selection ratio of 1 out of 1000.IBPS CWE is an objective type exam with negative marking for false answers.Initialy these exams were organised in the offline mode but in 2012 IBPS moved to an internet based examination process.

Eligibility:

Candidates intending to apply for CWE PO/MT should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria by IBPS.

Nationality/Citizenship:

A candidate must be either-

  1. A Citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal or
  3. A subject of Bhutan or
  4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st Jan 1962 with the intension of premanently settling in India or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda with the intension of premanently settling in India.

Age:

Minimum : 20 Years
Maximum: 30 Years

Educational Qualifications:

A degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate that he/she is a graduate on the day he/she register and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.


How To Apply

(i)  Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS's website www.ibps.in and click on the Home page to opne the link "CWE PO/MT" and then click on the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE-PROBATIONARY OFFICERS/MANAGEMENT TRAINEE (CWE-PO/MT)" to open the On-Line Application form.

(ii) Candidates will have to click on "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION" to register their application by entering their basic  information in the online application form. After that a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the provisional registration number and password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed.

(iii) Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature.

The above tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition will be printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.

Note: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of  the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Result of the CWE-PO/MT held in October/November 2014
